Wells was born of two pink elephants in South Jersey and raised in New Hope PA. She attended art schools in Philadelphia, Basel and New York City where she freelanced as a graphic designer in studios and ad agencies for almost 25 years. She has painted signs for barter, renovated old houses, dealt blackjack and raised two boys. In 2016 she began to paint abstracts and impulsively moved to The Bronx. There she drew a self portrait every day for almost 2 years.
Now in Rhode Island, she is painting abstracts, drawing and making sculptures from unwanted plastic, rusty or dead items. Influences include Bette Midler, New York City and trees in whatever order. She draws from memories that have risen to the surface before being quashed back under. She never plans ahead, by the seat of her pants she gets by.
